Durham Zetas Making A Difference
The Durham Graduate Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has a rich
history of community involvement. Our members devote countless
hours of volunteer service in order to promote and support
community outreach programs and services.
Chronicle Of Our Chapter's Activities
- Donated book bags and school supplies to Fayetteville Street Lab Elementary School.
- Volunteered at Durham Project Graduation.
- Donated new blankets to the Good Samaritan Inn, a temporary
housing facility for women and children without permanent homes.
- Donated new toys, dolls, and stuffed animals to two agencies
in the city to be distributed to underprivileged children at Christmas.
- Participated in March Of Dimes
WalkAmerica.
- Entertained residents at a local Senior Center. Played Bingo,
awarded prizes, distributed toiletries, and served refreshments.
- Sponsored a Halloween Party for residents at a local rest home.
- Sponsored a Holiday Party for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House of Durham.
- Participated in Food Drives to feed the hungry.
- Conducted a Health Fair at a local church.
- Purchased and delivered meals to families for
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Held a Voter Registration Drive co-sponsored with the Durham Graduate Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
- Sponsored the following Z-HOPE programs:
Z-Pack It Up, Meeting Basic Needs,
A Real Man's Test: Testicular Self Examination,
Diabetes and African American Youth, What's A Vegan,
Nontraditional Careers for Men, My Word Is My Bond, and
Walk or Run for a Z-HOPE Cause.
- Promoted Prematurity Awareness Sunday in our local churches.
- Presented a $1000 check to the United Negro College Fund.
